About Us

We are a family run  business. What started out as a hobby for myself has now taken up most of my freetime.
I learnt from scratch all about how to make props and replicas, many hours were spent on the internet finding all about how to make these items, trying out  different products i have never before used, resins, latex, silicone, fibreglass sculpting clay etc,so i went on the web for inspiration, there is a wealth of information available on the web and the best thing, all can be done in the comfort of my room, most of my children have left home,so the spare bedroom was converted into an office come studio, but after a while space became a problem,i had a small workshop in my garden, which i have now extended and modified, i now have a very large workshop with plenty of room.

The idea for the the business came to me after a very eventful holiday in cornwall. It startded out as just a holiday,we came into the possesion of a couple of shop mannequins,I have been interested in making props and costumes for some time.when the children were very young and still at school, there were the usual school plays, i have always been handy at making things from items i could fine around the house usually to my wifes amusement, one particular time i made my daughter a Cleopatra outfit and one of my sons a Cavalier costume, they turned out pretty well can`t remember if they won anything but it was great fun making them.
My wife and i were on holiday in  Cornwall what a great place,we were in Falmouth for the day when my wife noticed a shop was ditching all their Mannequins, she said i would love to have one of those in the garden,so she promptly asked the workmen if she could have a couple,at first i thought she`s finally lost it,and was not very happy about the idea. But how can you argue with a women, so i relented and said ok but you can carry it to the car,so i patiently waited by the car,as she made her way from the skip to the car i heard a very large crash with the sound reverberating around the precinct,as she was carrying one of the mannequins the top half became detatched from the bottom half sending it crashing to the ground just as she was walking past a cafe in falmouth harbour, i being a gentleman then decided it was best if i helped the poor thing ,so we arrived at the car loaded up the various arms legs torsos ect ,she then told me there was another one or two bits left, and could i just help her get those, so there we both were, in falmouth harbour, rifling through a skip  getting the various bits and pieces together, then having to walk through the precinct laden with male and female shop mannequins,i was just waiting to hear sirens and then having to explain to the local police why two holiday makers were walking around falmouth harbour carrying a couple of shop mannaquins ?.
But my nightmare wasn`t over oh no,when we loaded the car i had to sit the top two halfs of the male and female in the back seat, and even put their seatbelts on to stop them bouncing around the car everytime i put the brake on or turned a corner, the looks from other drivers with two naked people in the back of my voyager must have been a site to behold,we finally got back to the cottage, then i realised we had to move the bits and pieces from the car to the cottage without the neighbours noticing, and all the time i was still waiting to hear police sirens,"all cars be on the lookout for a green chrysler voyager male driver and femal passenger and two naked passengers in the back approach with caution",what a holiday.and as for the journey home, well that`s another story, when we finally arrived home,i was so glad that it was dark,i think  the neighbours did not see me transporting body parts from the car to the house.
But i have to thank my dear wife, so thanks Susan, for this gave me the idea in the first place. But i don1t think we will be visiting falmouth for a while.
